What began as a blueprint became a bold artistic statement—thanks to the hands-on ingenuity of Brandon Minga and Jackson LaHaie. Together, they designed and fabricated the custom metal frames that house every artwork throughout the Riverwest Apartments. More than builders, they were the connective tissue of the project, serving as direct liaisons with each participating artist to ensure every piece fit the vision, both structurally and spiritually.
This wasn’t just a framing job. It was a fusion of art and architecture, of community and craft, where every weld and measurement was made with Milwaukee in mind.
House of RAD was commissioned to permanently dress the walls of the brand-new Riverwest Apartments in Milwaukee’s Riverwest neighborhood. Built from the ground up, this project allowed us to bring local art into everyday living—literally.
We designed, welded, and crafted custom frames using Miller Welders and Evolution Power Tools to showcase stunning pieces by local artists: Melanie Ariens, Amy Schmutte, Amy Beattie, and Brandon Minga. With hands-on support from Jackson Lahaie, Stephen Vincent Anderson, Drew York, and Pamela Nanét, the hallways of Riverwest Apartments now serve as a permanent, walkable gallery, rooted in Milwaukee’s creative spirit.
